that was the transformer option before improvements was added.

I'm surprised anyone cares what anyone else does, tbh. I find tattoos an odd concept and scarification a stupid concept; someone else will really relate to them. I couldn't convince them they were 'wrong', nor they me.
I never understand these pointless GD "discussions" on tattoos etc, it always ends up with the same two camps.

I wouldn't say they are attention seeking, but some are slightly 'odd'
And I would say it does take a lot of skill to do that scarification on that womans back.

deforming is disgusting but scarification is ok?
Scarring and completely mutilating limbs doesn't even compare..
I would say that performance improvements will be a way of the future. implants and robotic limbs will come in the future ~100 years + here I would imagine as an "improved" capability to natural organs.
Currently if someone who is an amputee or in some way disabled I am all for technology helping them in what ever way it can, be it legs, arms or eyes.
I conclude a difference when its a performance improvement eg implants and replacements to piercing and tattoo which is aesthetics.

Ears arent limbs though, also, its no different to a normal ear piercing just with a bigger hole, where as scarification is surely mutilation?
Ah, you dont understand what I meant. I was referring to some of the stuff you see on BME for example for deforming, I wasnt referring to stretching as such. (Although I still think that is a bit gruesome)
As I understand it, self-amputation mostly stems from a psychological condition whereby the sufferer doesn't 'identify' with the limb in question, doesn't believe it is a part of them. It is alien to them so they have it removed. I read an article about a man who had a terrible life suffering from depression, drink, addiction, etc and after he had his leg off (he mutilated it himself then sabotaged the work of the doctors who tried to save it) his quality of life improved immeasurably, his whole outlook changed and he settled down, got a job and all that. The way I see it, it's their body. I've tattooed and pierced mine so I'd be a hypocrite to say otherwise.
To that extreme then yes I would agree, it does seem mad. But then i could quite go for bionic eyes, so cant really say that scarification / deformation is wrong
There is probably skill involved yeah, but at the end of the day, you are cutting chunks of flesh off, i mean come on, think about it... thats not natural. its freakin weird
