Anyone been to any of the matches yet? I've never been to a cricket game before but I'm heading off to Trent Bridge tomorrow afternoon to watch the Nottingham Outlaws vs Durham Dynamo's.

Judging from the names it all seems a bit American-ised but should be a good craic. 20 overs to smash as many of runs as possible in an evening.

If someone hits a six in my direction and I catch it, do I keep the ball?? Do you have to catch it to keep it or can you 'scrambles' for it like baseball?

Will Sidebottom be playing for Nottingham? Any other 'famous' cricketers likely to be out on the field? E.g. Chris Reid..

twenty20 is like the porn mag of cricket, all the purists claim to hate it but peek up at the newsagents shelves given half a chance.

No, you can't keep the ball - you have to give it back.

I support Sussex and although I prefer test cricket, a night out at the Twenty20 is a great laugh its really bought a whole new and younger audience to the game. Also people tend to get drunk so the crowd gets rowdy ;)

Lead Head - nope not been to a twenty20 before, about 10 of us going :D

Hate - thats so true, i hear it from people in the office who really like normal cricket :D

Indeed. Thought we had it with 2 balls to go :(

Considering we bat all the way down, why the hell didn't we open up a bit earlier, we still had Van Jaarsveld, Jones and Mc Laren, all of whom are great batsmen, in reserve.

Flamin' spinners didn't help our cause either.

Good day out, albeit a long one with plenty of sunburn :)
Of the four sides Middlesex were worthy winners IMO, a mixture of patient batting and slogging where appropriate. They had an impact player in both matches (Henderson and Shah) who made the difference.
