...have worn massively on the inner edge up to and slightly beyond halfway on my A4.
Any ideas what is likely to be the problem?

Also, it's got Michelin Pilot Sports on at the moment, I assume these are decent enough, any other suggestions? (235/40/18)

All my cars have done this, does it have lowered or sports suspension as these have a tendancy to give negative camber and scrub out the inside edges first. Slight negative camber helps cornering.

How long have the tyres lasted, if 20k i'd not worry, if <10k id consider spending on a laser alignment check and adjustment but budget £100 to have that done. I'd stick with the michelins but they now do a pilot sport 2 version.
 
Geometry was checked a few weeks ago and found to be fine. 11.5k miles on it.
Another guy I know with the saloon version says his tyres wear even, he has the same 5 spoke alloys and S-Line suspension...
