background story; I have a mk1 clio 16v which I've just put a clio mk2 182 engine in. Last night the diff circlip popped out which meant I lost drive  so today I removed the engine to take the gearbox off so that I can get the circlip welded in so it wont come out again (once the start coming out, they will continue to do so :()

It's a timelapse with a photo taken every 10s from inside (hence the occasional glare)

It says 90 minutes on the video, but it was more like 80 minutes  - also seems like most of the time was spent getting it on axle stands! :D

I was relatively proud :o

Love it mate,

nice video. I had a Mk2 16v 1.8l. Then i got the Reno 1 16v chamade Saloon i loved. Had 5years did 50k and just a clutch cable broke. Sweet car and loved to thrash it :D

I bet she goes nice with the new 182 in her :D

LOL i just mean to mess about and learn how to work on cars. I'm doing basic things on my car like the brake discs, spark plugs and oil but wouldn't dare touch the engine.

cool vid but what gearbox are you using? Have you used a box from the 1*2 or a valver one?

The circlips in the valvers could either last forever once you replaced it or come out the next day, so unpredictable. Welding doesn't work as you've found out.. some bloke was bolting them in on the valver forum which seemed to work.

Bet it's quick :D
