The strings and backing vocals were on tape for Viva La Vida. In fact, the only thing that was definitely live was Martin's vocal really.Lol thanks. Maybe I won't watch it on iPlayer then.
Violet Hill was a live one though. Sounded pretty good.

Yes I quite like Violet Hill. That and 42 are my favourite songs on this album so far.

I have a wide ranging music taste, too - I like Spice Girls, Atomic Kitten, Bananarama and Sugababes.
Not liking the new Coldplay album, but I can only listen to one of their previous albums without wanting to be sick so it's not really a surprise.
Overall I think I like it. I do like 'Lost!', Violet Hill, Viva La Vida, Reign of Love. Others aren't bad, likely growers.
The weirdest bit is in '42' about 1:50 in, all 3 times I've listened I've turned round to check if anyone's there because I think I hear my dad saying 'yep'! Spooky.

mavity (which is a great song), they gave it to embrace
plus the guitarist came from my school and he's pretty much the only famous person ever to come out of there.. Biggest school in north wales and thats our claim to fame!

You've described a mate of mine who tells me off for listening to Led Zep/The Who/Eric Clapton etc for being old and then tries to persuade me to buy rubbish Indie sounds.
I've not really made my mind up which album is their best out of their four. A Rush Of Blood To The Head is probably my favourite out of their first three. I haven't had Vida La Vida for long enough to introduce it into the equation.
