I made a video moaning about how I never can get anyone to play on live with me when I discovered after playing it back something funny. Watch this video and you'll notice the noise from my 360 actually drowns out the sound of the game coming from my speakers.

Crazy azz fans and DVDrom.

This a Falcon model too.

Do the falcons have the cooling problems of the earlier models? Mine sounded like that until I took it apart and did the X clamp fix. Now it's quiet. It was the GPU overheating.

I sent my original 360 for repair because of the ridiculously noisy case fan. It was unreal. Got a replacement back and it was silent, until you put a game in the DVD driver that is. I can cope with that though, as the game's usually noisy.

it depends what you recorded this with, i can record mine with a condenser microphone and itll hurt your ears.

Okay, I have a problem with this.

A) The game is Fuzion Frenzy 2, a game that wasn't popular when it originally came out over a year ago.
b) £40 a year has nothing to do with no one else playing the game online. The price is for the the service, whether people are on or not is nothing to do with that.
c) Your Xbox360 sounds really loud, but then, is your music just quiet on the game because the MSN sound was perfectly clear and very loud in contrast to everything else.

Some 360's are just louder than others...

Mine is quiet, as is most of the ones my friends own. One is far louder though than the others, (almost twice as bad).

I don't deny that, but then again, you can make whatever you want sound very loud with a digital camera's microphone as they're not very good. My point was, everything could have reduced audio and the MSN chime was perfectly audible, perhaps on the side of too loud.

lol ive often found these 'look at my loudness' recordings/video to be a waste of time. if you dont have a reference noise to allow matching of levels from one system to another, it is all completely pointless.

i had an idea which would work, but it'd require a test tone generator (or an av amp) on the recorders end and an spl meter on the other. with an av amp its simple as pie, just play the test tone which the amp automatically sets to 75db, at the start of the recording. At the player end, the listener would hear it the test tones being played, adjust his levels so that the tones play back at 75db, then EVERYTHING would be heard at the level the recorder heard it. this is assuming of course that the microphone used didnt apply some sort of compression on the audio which mobile phones and other low quality devices can do. but even then it would still be far more accurate.

On the subject of the issue with connecting to games, when you do a connection test from the dashboard, what does it report your NAT type as?
