Mine is , I am close to a GP who has had to sell the sugery the 'partners' owned ( all made 100K+) as it was better for them to lease it from the NHS.
We are talking upwards of 200K per year now, in comparison to 150K in a Northern city.
All these people whinging about "the hours they do" and the pay.
Nobody forced them.
If 15 years and no pay rise is true, what about those starting 5 years ago, a little too optimistic maybe?

I found the arguements quite amusing on the first page about how the police etc need petrol and what not therefore its an invaluable job, but then it wasnt mentioned that if there was no police etc the tankers wouldnt exactly be on the roads long would they..
Every job has its worth, and is part of the bigger picture of the whole economy.. but seriously... its hardly a physically demanding or mentally challenging job, or risky.. and they are whinging at their pay? jesus christ..

Maybe by your reasoning the criminal who was not charged 5years ago should not be charged.
Its based on a pro-rata basis.
And if you can not argue that eventualy infation will become the straw,do not bother to argue the camel.
Again your choice, no one in our state limits you to the earnings you can achive, change jobs and stop the hate (jealousy)

It can be a complete **** to try and get another job, especially if you come from a certain type of working back ground

Sadly Knip having worked in the public sector for 10 years know I can tell you you are not considered an asset more of a liability (in the accounting sense), having to have someone look after disabled people is a drain on the public purse strings and means councillors have less money for more glamorous things. Sad by true state of affairs.
bloody tanker drivers, have a number of relatives who drive class 1's in various guises, YES you have unsociable hours YES it can be hard and sometimes dirty work
but 40 freaking grand a year, thats a topline pay of over 750 quid a week, bear in mind the driving restrictions placed on lorry drivers (what normally happens is that they work their overtime then every 6th or 7th week end up with a paid week off because of driving hours)
bloody greedy hypocritical gits the lot of them its a case of oh look at shell making huge profits, we want a slice of that action
get back to work, and hang your heads in shame greedy buggers if you dont like it go drive somewhere else, your getting a bloody good wage for what you do(i'm sure r124 will confirm)

But... but... it's really really dangerous (you try driving petrol around while by being shot at by sniper fire), and their conditions are like... soooo bad and everything. They make Indian sweatshops look like a walk in the park according to many posters here!

I run/drive taxis in some of the worst areas of Glasgow(east end) i deal with all the neds, junkies, jakies and general dregs of society every day
try going to work in the morning wondering if your going to get stabbed or robbed, dont see me striking now do you, its my choice and if/when i decide i dont like it I'l just get another job like any reasonable person would do
How about having his coffee drinking staff making you wait days for an appointment yet whenever you go in it's deserted. All you get off him is how much do you smoke and watch your weight.
A few years ago my mother went to him because she thought her head was going to explode. He fobbed her off and told her to take paracetamols. He was in the middle of an affair with his practice partner and his mind was not on his job. Mother got worse (we thought it was meningitis or something) and my dad rang him up. He tried to fob dad off. Dad told him that my mothers pain and weakness was so great that she might just pass away and that he would hold the doctor solely responsible should that happen.
The doctor turned up within the hour, to be greeted by the sight of three large men (my Dad, me, and my brother, who was helping me with my car). The look on the doctors face was priceless. He couldn't do enough for my mother and treated her correctly this time. You could tell he was scared though when he saw the state of my mother. He'd ****** up and he knew it, and he wasn't getting out of that house until he did something.
His former practise partner is now his wife, and he has a new doctor working for him. I always ask for HIM because I can't stand the sight of the main doctor because I still haven't forgiven the smug *******.
