Today's news is brought to you by the websites All Project Stats, BOINCstats and Team Starfire World BOINC Stats ‘N Stones.

Ladies, Gentlemen and those that aren't sure... There's a team in our sights! Although Team Art Bell are more than a year away from being stomped at current production, it's definitely a step in the right direction

We've also climbed another place in the RAC rankings, hitting a long-term high of 19th and adding another 16,500 in just five days. I think we'll definitely be seeing well over 250,000 next week.

As ever, a warm welcome to our newest members! And as always, a big congrats to all the tiffy winners! Don't forget to get 'em out, and if I've missed anyone then give me a prod.

Thanks for the news again TT. New team in sights! go go go! well.... soldiering on stead-fastly.....

As for myself, broke into the top 75 producers. won't be for long though, as the 24/7 of some machines is going to be cut back again :(
oh well. back to waiting till the budget can accomodate a quad core....

Thanks for the news TT - nice to have a future stomp target :D
My RAC is still climbing thanks to those optimised apps, and they are updating Crunchers linux apps if other forum posts are to be believed so hopefully might be able to squeeze some more credit soon from my SSE2 cpu's.

Well done to all the tiffy winners:p

For those with an SSE3 cpu there are updated AK8 optimised apps for Linux

Missed me off your list :(

And Frosty, you should stay because, errr, you should stay :D

I'm thinking of quitting when i hit 50k! Any reasons why i should stay?

Yes! Because the team's doing really very well indeed at the minute, and you're part of the, er, renaissance. Besides, the SETI cells are much more comfortable than the Folding ones. Believe me, I know :( :p

And anway, 50k is a rubbish number to finish on; five digits is just sooo common. At least go for six digits, shouldn't take you too long and you'll have another nice, spangly tiffy to show off.

And lastly, your name adds a touch of class to the team methinks :D

But if you want to try another project then go for it, or if you just want to stop all this malarky completely then I can understand; it does get quite addictive...

i was thinking of just stopping the malarky all together, but i think i'll leave it till at least 6 digits, its just, my pc has been on longer than ever before, and i can only wonder what sort of a toll that is having on it!

Might I just say TT and we as a team, well we just rock :D

agreed.

also noticed that in the 1st news post, there wasn't anyone with a flops higher than 10,000 now there are 7 people. and then only 15 people dumped more than 10,000, now its more than double that at 32.

so much improvement.

Leaving your machine on 24/7 is actually better for it than keep turning it on and off.The temperature ranges that PC Silicon goes through when starting up and shutting down adds stress to the system components, not much admittedly, but it is a factor.

If your worried about leaving your machine on 24/7, dont be, go back to normal usage, leave the boinc client on your machine and use normally and just crunch units whenever you have the PC on. No need to leave the team, you can still crunch away in the background whilst it is on.

I game on my rig with Boinc set to 100% CPU usage with no ill effects (dual Pentium D)

Well i got my 50k :D just need an ocuk stats update. Stats reckon i will have 100,000 by the 7th of august :)

I think I'm going to stick with seti too
