Best way to destroy a load of CDs?

As with anything big enough or small and in mass quantity, like the last several years of all cd's I finally got around to sorting through and chucking. Down the dump, chuck them into the compactor, hear/watch crap get crushed together , see cubes of junk if you hang around a while and try to spot your crap in weird shapes in cube of junk.

Trash compactor > all
 
Snap them in half.

Unless some government body picks it up off the dump and thinks "Lets invest a few grand recovering data from these", you'll be fine!
 
Invite some friends round and throw the discs (one by one) up into the air shortly before shattering them with a baseball bat. *one person throws, the other bats*

Get all of the little shattered bits together from all the different discs and bin them, if you wanna futher distroy them, soak 'em in methylated spirts and set fire to them.

I just thought it was a tad obvious, that's all. Obviously not.
 
Just glue the readable surfaces together with polystyrene cement, rendering them unreadable.
