i woke on saturday and connected to the 'net, my download speed it terrible, i usually get around 650-700, but now its dropped to 200! ive tried changing the splitters, plugging directly into the wall, even tried another modem, but still its the same, what else can be wrong?

That looks awful, but speedtesters can often be very wrong.

Which ISP are you with? I presume you're on MaxDSL with that upload speed.

What are your line stats in the router (sync speed/snr/attenuation)?

F2S are also rather poor these days. Consider migrating away to a better ISP.

The modem should tell you what speed it's connected at, and how to access SNR/attenuation will depend on the particular modem (and the software that comes with it).

I've had this problem with f2s for a few months that i goes REALLY slow between 4-10 - probbaly due to throttling - hence I've had enough and moving away from them after a good few years

i wish mine was between a certain but but its 24/7, surfing the net like this is as bad (if not worse) than being on dial-up

would they not have said something about thrrotling when i phoned them? they asked about how i was setup, where the filters were in relation to my etc

Well I can't be sure it's throtlling but when it's between the same times nearly everynight you do get iinklings - either that or the service is going to pots by cramming too many people on the same pipe. (summat to do with pipex/tiscali takeovers)

well its still the same, i got my mac code and have gave it to my new provider, im also getting a router so if its still the same i know it wasnt my isp or setup, still crapping it incaser it is the same though :(

im with f2s (i know theyre owned buy tiscali)

i am migrating, it due to be complete within the next couple of days thats why i need it fixed, i dont want the hassle of naging my new isp

If your modem is still connecting at 6.9mbps but you're only getting those speeds I wouldn't be shocked to find out that it's your current ISP causing the problems. Once you switch over you'll probably see a marked increase in speed...and if you don't, the new ISP will go out of its way to help you as a new customer.
