How big is the g280 going to be?

I have a Silverstone TJ07 case and I recently bought the drives to hdd convertor so I've lost atleast and inch in space.

Hope it will fit as I'm buying one around crimbo for my new build. Might be another card out by then anyway.

I thought they are at least 8800GTX size but I might be wrong ;)

if those numbers are anything like real, then the gtx280 is a damn sight faster than a 9800gtx at 1920x1200.....but thats still not far off gx2 performance. even so im not going to believe them lol. im not sure why people were expecting the card to be massively faster than a gx2.

would be nice though.

260 I presume Shep?

Well its $339.00 and says the GTX280 but has no picture and no manufacturer.

U.K prices are always like £120 on top of the U.S price.

So im guessing this:

U.S $339.00

Uk = $339.00 / 2 = £170 + £120 = £290 + £9 for fun

I see our price being £299.99 if the website is legit or has just stuck that price on so people buy and then on day release the price is bumped up.

Ive seen a lot of component online stores do that!

More likely they have listed it as GTX280 when it's really a GTX260. That happened with the 8800GT release. I saw people listing 8800GT cards early but the serial number was clearly a 8800GTS G80 card.

No way is the GTX280 going to be £299 over here or $339 over there. $339 would equate to around £230-£240 over here anyway with duty, vat, and a bit of ripoff for been in the uk.

$339 seems too close to the rrp of the GTX260 to be anything else.

The leaked "proper" reviews of the GTX280 are all still saying around $600.

However, if true I'm going to buy one for £230 as it's game over for ATI at that price or even a GTX260 as they would only be £130 ish.

Nvidia still have to make money.... I would think it's gonna be close to £400 give or take £50. They are releasing early to gouge (as is the term I believe) then see what ATI release there's at, before deciding on final price.
