NVidia controlling pricing?

Well even if they don't dictate the prices they can just charge an overprice for delivering them to the shops? The first users can pay for getting the manufacturing improved then.

Anyway Nvidia will realize soon that AMD are better off in terms of actually selling anything, and then they'll lower the prices. What would be really nice is a 8800GT class card from the new generation, that would really be a hit.

I'm sure Raven will be along shortly to explain to us all why this is a good thing nVidia are doing.

Makes me wonder how he can post his drivel while keeping a straight face. Unless he's just trolling to try and cause trouble.

I think NV may have backed themselves into a corner if the info about the cost and yields of the GT200 chips is right. The margins are meant to be pretty bad already on the GTX280, I'm sure they're extremely limited in how much they can drop the price, saying that, I'm really appalled at OCUK's price on the 280s, how do they think they'll sell any when they're £70 more than they should be? No wonder they've got their 'no competitors' rule. They must think some people think OCUK are the only online store in the world.

Who's Raven?

Raven is a Technophile who has love affairs with nvidia graphics cards, which end up broken due to his 'love' for them. He also defends them no matter what. I'm guessing he has an nvidia logo tattooed onto his forehead to show everyone his devotion to the 'green side'.

This is just the same as what happens in sales of DJ equipment, there are whole websites just built around the concept of "here's the official price, call us and you get what we can actually sell it for". To be honest i thought that companies had done this all the time, read this article now and it doesn't seem that bad, just a call to them and ask what they're willing to sell it for?

Ben, I would love to know how you've managed over 4000 posts in that short time period. I thought I had a good post count for my time on here...

I've been on study leave for the past... for ever. OcUK forums keep me sane between past papers.
