I think my graphics card is overheating :(
I have a 3850x2 in a thermaltake xaserIII case and it's just getting to damn warm (pc has shut down on it's own)
Are there any cheap aftermarket solutions to the prob (i know the thermaltake fans that came with case are a bit low on the output side as they are the silent type?)
So would putting some high output 80mm fans on the case be the first step?
With the side of the case open and a desktop fan pumping lovely cold goodness into the case everything is fine slap the side panel back on and it turns into an oven :(
Just would like a few ideas fellas....

if there is enough room always put aftermarket coolers on the 3850's. how many intake and exhaust fans you got? as u said try increasing the number of fans you got.

get a nice air flow going through the case. intake at the front, exhaust at the back. if you cant put a front fan on for whatever reason, look into the kama bays

No not increasing number just changing....I have two 80's on the side panel...two on rear of case and two on front (but these are blacked by my hdd's) with them being the silent type of fans they dont seem to push much air....
I never knew you could get an aftermarket cooling solution for the 3850x2?

You can't, I think he might think you have 2 3850s in crossfire.

The 2 front fans blowing air into the case
The rear fans removing air out of cases.
Then i would have the 2 on the side blowing onto the 3850's.
Can you get bigger fans eg 120mm?

He has a 3850X2, not 2 3850s :).

I think you can put after market coolers onto both the 3850 Cores, I think those zalman flowers might work, though I'm not too sure of which ones they are.

No I can assure you I have a 3850x2 :) this card came out before the 3870x2.
Well if push comes to shove I can always cook eggs and bacon on it :D

Dont think it's gunna matter really mate what card I get think it might be better to get another case or mod the case I have (Maybe a couple of 120mm on the side will do it)
I have a lot of stuff inside all pumping out heat (4 hard drives dont help matters)
Thanks for the ideas anyway chaps!
