Nvidia GTX 280 - IN STOCK NOW!!!

Im just looking at these and not interested in buying one. However i am looking at buying a new car and the money situation is making me think. But now youve said that it makes sense. If anyone says to me "dont waste your money!"

Ill be like FO! Lifes to short!

ahhhhh your a genius lad!

At the end of the day people are spending their own money, £450 to some people is like £10 to others.

I wouldnt pay £450 for a card, although i did spend £500 on two 3dfx 2 cards back in the day which looking back was insane :p

When I get a job I'll go for the 280. Can't be bothered waiting any more - although my 8800GTX is awesome.

The only games to tax it are Age of Conan (don't like) & Crysis (do like).

Great card, great specs, but i will be waiting 4 or 5 weeks until ATI's card are released and the proces will drop like last time. I would expect £100 off of the 280 within 5 or 6 weeks, once ati shows their hand :)

You say that like a GTX280 eats crysis... it doesn't.

Irrespective of that, people still want value for money. I have a small mortgage, relatively small outgoings and both my wife and I earn a good wage. We are both gamers, so buying hardware is not an issue as my wife wants just as smooth frame rates as I do.

However, I won't be buying any as they simply do not represent good value for money when considering the increase in performance over our current rigs.

I suspect many others are in the same boat I am. The cost is not the factor, it's what you are getting for that cost is the problem.

I have to say I'm tempted by that, is that wrong?

Seen this?

This card isn't a waste of money for people who have the money. Myself and a lot of people could go out and buy one cash right now, the decision is... do I want to spend £500 nicker on a card that isn't that quick considering the price? EWrrr... no... so it's not a waste of money, it's simply overpriced, that's two different things.

I'll be sticking with my 8800GT's after reading Anandtech's reviews which are the best out there and give you all the figures you need...

Cheers Pug

So are these cards 450% faster than the £105 8800GT as the price tag suggests?

Can't see it some how.

A totally unjustified price tag from Nvidia as always.
