I'm probably a **** of a friend but I avoid one of them from getting in my car and going around his house because my clothes stink afterwards. Not so much in my car as my seat would just pong for a few days.

I just can't bring myself to tell him.

you are a crap friend, not because of what you are doing but because of what you arent doing.
tell him.

Tell him, he will fail at life if he stinks. some may think thats an overexaggeration, but think the last time you stood near a smelly person - how long did you stand there?

I am with you.... i dont think i could tell him.... i know i would prob help him if i did but just couldnt bring my self to doing it

It may be hard to come round and tell him, but you are helping him out. Just tough it out after he gets annoyed with you about it ... will mean you dont have to try and avoid giving him lifts for a little while. In the end you get a mate who doesnt smell so everyone wins!

I had a friend that was drying his clothes improperly, they stank to high heaven of damp, the stench was overpowering, absolutely vile.

I told him he stunk and he never spoke to me for a year, he was honking though, the smell in my car lingered for weeks.

Surely he must know already?

Actually you'd get desensitised to your own BO, or any smell you're constantly surrounded by. I didn't know I stank until my cousin told me while I stayed with him.

Ironically when I was going through a really bad hygiene period a few years later at uni (that's another story), my flatmates were telling me that I didn't smell at all, as a matter of fact that I should cuz I looked filthy; meanwhile they were complaining about another flatmate who smelt even though he showered religiously.

Also when I went to Canada, my shower smelt like **** for some reason and I actually went through a week without a shower! Yet my gf at the time didn't at all detect anything even from the close proximity...

I mean how hard is it to have a bath everyday and change of underwear. Twice a day if your overweight. I do this automatically everyday. It's not very hard.

Bath's a luxury! I only have time for a 15 minutes shower every morning, and 10 of those are on the damn hair!

So it's definitely BO then? You needa tell him really. I flatout tell my friends that they stink when they do and they usually just apologise and cry.

my old flate mate used to stink ( or at least his room did) lived with him for a year before we fell out and probably only noticed he had a shower 5 times tops in that year.

I constanty complained and told him to keep his window open and door closed as it reaked! might be the fact that he slept for more hours than he was awake and just festered in his bed.

I had a mate at school that had terrible B.O. TBH he needed telling so that he could sort it out, so tell him I did. I did it in a lighthearted way, rather than just saying "OMG you stink", though :)

I sat next to this geezer in a band i was in. When we were playing in hot weather he stank disgusting like rotting manure, something sweet and sickly i didnt tell him cause he was fat and i didnt like him....i am a nice person.

I went to meet a girl, she smelt of body odour so I swiftly made my exit just after I told her. It was for her own good :o
