Due to me previously having a bolt in roll cage through the floor pan and rear arch! there are now holes that i haven't yet filled etc...

will this be a MOT failure.

any ideas?

AFAIK yes, however as long as something is covering it it should pass. Anyone remember the story about the guy who wallpapered his car as it failed due to bodywork having major holes in it ? Think it was on 'The Garage' a few years back.

None of mine have ever failed on those grounds, I wouldn't worry about it. Easiest thing to do is to plug them with rubber grommets anyway. Grab a bag from the local motorspares place.

It's about proximity to suspension mounts etc. not that there's a hole in the wheel arch.

As mentioned, use gaffa tape (both sides), then it just goes down as "unable to inspect, pass."

On a similar note, if you have seatbelts which will fail, put a child seat in, they're not allowed to even touch those.

i have harnesses in the front! which are connected up to previous seat belt mounts.

the holes are : -

2 just behind the 2 front seats

1 in each rear arch - bottom of the arch, by the rear seats

Its all down to wether you have an MOT tester who will notice. My Fiesta went through 2 MOTs without either tester noticing the massive patch of rust all over the top of the suspension mount in the boot because it was covered with a bagged up florescent jacket.... :)

EDIT: do you still have the bolts? Just stick them back in the holes?

No, the holes are obviously drilled - so it's a modification, not corrosion. If you are really worried put rubber bungs or O rings in them so they blatantly look deliberate.
