I normally wouldnt ask this and would just fall abck to a comparison website as a starting point but once you click the Modified box most internet quotes fall over fast.

Audi A4 2.0T Quatro Special ed, modded from 220 to 260 bhp.

Whos going to give me a good quote Esure have gone all nuts on me and added over £100 since a couple of months ago when i got my "quote before i buy" price so now im looking for a better deal.

Any tips?

try noeldazely.co.uk

not good for everyone but i got £1250 on my RS4 and I'm 25 with only 1 ncb. It's running 426bhp with B7 brakes and uprated suspension. So i thought it was prett good and they do like for like on the mods...

Your car sounds pretty cool. Can we have some pictures?

Suprised with Bell, I got a quote for my car modified with a remap to 260bhp, exhuast and induction and it increased the price by 40 quid a mod. Not bad given I'm under 25.

thing is, with a straight remap there is like ZERO chance you'd ever be in trouble come claim time, absolutely zero.

insurance inspector is never gonna download your map and compare with stock :)

sometimes honesty is not the best policy in life ;)

keep schtoom

If you have other performance mods then yes declare the lot but otherwise don't say a word ;)

Proven? its not been on a rolling road but thats what revo claim on the remap.

Im not going to risk anything by not declaring the mod, Id rather be a £100 a year out of pocket than £20k in the hole if somethign happens.

Pics, It needs a good wash first but once its had a visit to me local freindly eastern europeans for a clean I'll take a couple and post them up.

I know you say you don't want to risk but i think the above is the answer and would be my choice in all honesty.

Chris Knott was very good when I had my 340bhp vRS. They'll use Highway Insurance though, which hasn't got the best of reps... but unless you plan to crash it, it won't be an issue ;)

I'm with greenlight with my remapped leon cupra r. Was £100 cheaper than the cheapest quote I got without specifying the remap with direct line.

I used Greenlight to cover the remap on my 330d. Note that Elephant/Admiral will NOT cover remaps, and only what they consider 'chips'.

I know this is retarded, but you don't want to get caught out if you ever have an accident.

The TVR I am looking at has been mapped and is dyno'd at 397bhp, stock ones are meant to be 420 bhp but most are only about 360-370bhp. I will not be declaring it because the insurance is for a 420bhp car and until I do enough to top that then I won't declare it.

Look for a company that insures based on percentage power increase rather than the mods themselves
