Reckon i should pursue legal action?

They will have asked you if you wanted to go to hospital. You evidently declined the offer. Be grateful they found you and took you to a safe place. If you were sober enough to remember where you were staying you would have been sober enough to decide if you wanted medical attention, the police cannot force you to got to hospital, if they just took you anyway, they would end up being sued for kidnapping
They probably won't have asked if he wanted to go to hospital, even though they should have, because then they would be involved beyond just dropping someone off at a hotel (which iirc they are not allowed to do). The problem is, hedge, that if your recollection of the night is sketchy then any statement you make will almost certainly be treated with a pinch of salt.

Is it kidnapping when they put someone in a cell who doesnt want to :D ..

i see what you mean, maybe i did refuse I dont know. All i know is my head bloody hurt and i was bleeding.

If i was bleeding, like i think i was, i would have thought they would give me no choice in the matter. To cover themselves.

But it may have been dark and they didnt see, i dunno. The lack of knowledge about it is probably frustrating me more than what went on

I see why you might think that,

but you say "If it wasnt for them it could have been worse".....

Yeah it could have been a hell of a lot worse if i didnt wake up the following morning in my hotel room with serious brain injuries, i was lucky it wasnt that bad.

maybe i was drunk, wandering along, then i got jumped. Just because i was drunk it doesnt mean i DESERVED my head smacked about.

Whoever did it thought it was funny to actually phone my girlfriend from my phone, and say "haha you wont be seeing your boyfriend for a while" or words to that effect.

Thats a bit low. So maybe part of me does want to "profit" from it, but it was a pretty crappy moment in my life!

So because you don't know who attacked you, you want to take it out on the UK tax payer instead by suing the police?

Yeah thats a point I know, not being able to say what happened to me doesnt help at all.

I might ask for some advice from a professional to see what they think. I can explain my story better verbally, text on here probably doesnt come across as well as id like :)

I love how people start talking crap about Taxes. As if I make a claim, then all of a sudden you will have to pay a bigger percentage of tax. Get down from that high horse please lol

Not just any UK tax payer. You if possible

best to go down the station and see if they can help you piece it together rather than sueing you which will just make that officer all the more likely to ignore a drunk guy than try to help in future.

If you decline to go they cant force you to, provided you are capable of making that decision (which you were, as you could remember where you wanted them to take you)

You may have already been checked over by an ambulance, who gave you the ok to be takn home? Given that all you will have to go in is what it says on the log (assuming someone rung the police about you, and they didnt just find you) and what is on the oficers pnbs there is not much point in lodging a complaint, as you can remember anything

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change? All they'll do is tell him he's satans child for using a car.

What's with the increase in people who don't have anything worthwhile to say
just spamming threads with mindless rubbish lately?
More posts does not = bigger e-peen!

it's more if you get a bunch of compo that officer gets a warning, that station has less of a budget the cops then have to waste more time taking drunks to hospital or just plain ignoring them.

i wouldnt seek legal action but i would maybe make a complaint if only so the officers are trained better for similar circumstances

p.s.

youre lucky they didnt do you for being so drunk

Anyone with any basic first aid knowledge which I would asume most police have would know that bleeding from your ears should mean a pretty swift trip to hospital

And not only that but assuming a drunk is OK just because he says he's OK, despite obvious injuries is incredibly foolish.

Tefal at the time this all happened. I asked them if they could find out stuff for me, about how i got back etc, Asked them to confirm that i was correct in thinkin i was dropped off by police..

they swept over my questions saying yeah we will look into it. And all they came up with was "Someone was picked up by the side of the road last night, however we dont know where he was dropped off". Which seemed ridiculous to me.

And im not making none of this up. Thats the exact words they came out with.

At the time i wasnt in the mind to quiz them time and time again, so i just left it. But its been annoying me since

Wow, you're so mature. Where exactly do you think the money comes from if you sue the police? It just stops them from being able to help people who genuinely need it, rather than those who don't know when to stop drinking.

hmm due to the fact a sense of humor will be being violently inserted between your buttocks I'm not quite sure which orifice we should cram the sense of irony in through, the smaller the better though....

probbably because then they just asked a radio operator what they remembered, and the car will have called in picking someone up but not any detail about where they took him.

I forgot it was so long ago, (which will probbably screw over your claim) because if it was recent you could have actually spoke to the guys who where in the car.

Ocuk isnt really the best place to bring up a drunken situation, because other than the cool people in the friday night ale threads. All other people who get themselves drunk are actually chavs who deserve a kicking.

I already accepted that i was foolish to get myself too drunk in a place i dont know. Dont start patronising me.

Tefal you are probably right about it being a long time ago etc. And they deal with lots of situations and mine would be insignificant, especially with the time scale.

I probably wont bother pursuing anything. As ive left it this long anyway. And although people want to keep telling me it was my fault, yeah I actually accept my own responsibility in all of this.

I dont really need pretentious people slating me for being drunk and getting myself into a stupid situation.

I think most people have gotten drunk and ended up is a stupid situation but most don't like the idea of suing the police or most people.
