Commercial Institutional Lyrical Quizzical II

Haven't had a chance and it's only a flying visit right now :(

I'll get round to it when I can, anyone else can feel free to chip in :)

i remember a while back someone did a victorian style quiz on lyrics and it worked really well because you couldn't google for the answer! I forget who it was now, good job!

If no-one minds I'll throw in 10 random lyrics from songs on my current playlist, they might well be too easy but we'll see.

Wash away my troubles, wash away my blues

I wrote a song for you today while I was sitting in my room = Saul Williams - List Of Demands (Reparations) -- Visionary

You don't have to play it but I hope you'll do your best

One man did not call, he asked me for my love and that was all = Stevie Nicks & Fleetwood Mac/Linus Loves - Stand Back -- Gezzard

That's when I start promising the World to a brand new girl = Wiley - Wearing My Rolex -- DanTheMan

I'm not leaving now honey, not a chance = Kim Wilde - Kids In America -- Gilly

It felt so wrong it felt so right, don't mean I'm in love tonight

All the years we've been down, there's no way, no how, this just can't be true = Eminem/Embrace - How Come -- Gilly

So maybe I've been killing time but now you see I've finally lost my mind = Elevator Suite - Backaround -- Belmit

Everybody stutters one way or the other = Scatman John - Scatman -- ElvisFan

//edit and 00bob00 I think that might have been the man directly above you. :)

Search on here for 'shakespearean' and all shall become clear. :)

And as a matter of fact I don't like to be seen

99% sure this is The Longpigs - She Said. A great song from a great band. My band were going to support them once, I was like a little kid at Christmas I was so excited. But they cancelled due to illness I think.

We did support The Bluetones too, and while I quite liked the music, they weren't very nice (guitarist was cool, singer and drummer weren't)

Scatman John - (I'm a) Scatman.

Correct.

I didn't think anyone else in the world knew of this awesome track. Elevator Suite - Backaround.

To be fair I only know of it because of your recommendation so I'm not entirely surprised that it was you to get it. :)

"One man did not call, he asked me for my love and that was all"

Linus Loves - Stand back

Yep, although I was listening to the original Stevie Nicks version.

Kim Wilde - Kids in America :o

Yup :)

I need clues now, I did get a couple of others but they'd gone by the time I saw them :)

This bands name consists of a number, an animal, a time of day - one word for each. The song title almost rhymes with an old Hank Williams song if you miss a "ya" off the end of the Hank Williams classic.

You don't have to play it but I hope you'll do your best

Song title could be described as a sky driver of the radio. Artists initials are two consecutive letters of the alphabet.

It felt so wrong it felt so right, don't mean I'm in love tonight

Quite a new song, an everyday occurance in young romance but the gender of the singer gives it a twist. Initials the same as a famous brand of salted peanuts.

All the years we've been down, there's no way, no how, this just can't be true

I'm surprised about this one, sung by one of the most famous rappers ever and superbly covered by Embrace.

That would have to be 'How Come?' then, but I can't remember the lyrics being that!

[edit]Cos there's swearing in my version :D

One down. :) No swearing in this version, family friendly forum and all that. ;) Actually it is just because I prefer the Embrace version now and I'd assume since it was recorded as a Live Lounge track they couldn't swear.
