Let me get this straight - so you would be happy to pay for a service when the only thing it offers over the free competition is to chat with mates who are in a different game etc. And you think that would still be value for money???

If Sony are closing the gap between PSN & Live then surely MS have to review their pricing structure! I really hope they make it free, then once the revised quiet & reliable 360 comes out later in the year I will be picking one up for sure :D

If this is true - about time sony!

We are finally beginning to see how competition benefits the consumer. I'm sure Sony have spent a fortune pushing this update for release and as soon as its out (if it is as good as they claim) MS will have to react.
 
sounds good.....

I never liked how MS charged for Xbox Live, it just didn't sit right with me. I prefer the XMB over the Xbox dashboard, XMB just has a cleaner, more professional look, so any updates that improves is always good.....

Not sure if I'll actually use all the new features, still nice to see Sony making yet more improvements to their flagship games console....

Yes that is what I mean. I'm hoping it's the move that causes microsoft to make the service free or at least consistently provide dedicated servers and allow battlefield type numbers and maps. I might start buying games again for the 360 as well to play multiplayer.

Fifty Bucks its released with MGS4. PSN does seem to be catching up.
MS make me feel like they are turning the consoles into 1 big coin-op machine.
MY biggest gripe is paying to be able to use a multiplayer function of a game, must be my pc roots

This is my gripe too. You bought the console, you bought the game, you pay for internet access and then you have to pay to be able to play the damn thing online as well :mad:
 
What do you reckon 2.4 announced at E3 in about 4 weeks time? At least we know it is confirmed to have XMB and trophies.
