I bought a Asus Rampage forumla a couple of months ago, on the understanding that 16XSLI X2 PCI-E isnt possible.

With the slight dissapointment on the pricing of the latest NV cards I'm going to hold off for ATI offerings.

Am I correct in thinking that this board is capable of 16XPCI-E X2 on Crossfire? Can any-one confirm this for me course as if this is the case Crossfire ATI's are looking very promising at the moment if I can run PCI-E 16X on both cards!

ASUS Ramp Form is X48 so yes you can run 2 x ATi cards in Crossfire with both having 16x PCI-E 2.0.

nVidia wouldn't give Intel the licence to use SLi on their chipsets, as such you can only do SLi on nVidia based mobo's.

i thought u said going to buy gt280 and that u never go ati in your life :D and as u said u going to buy gt280 witch is really expensive the nvidia motherboard should be a peni then for u ? if u buying gt280 so why would not buy two gt280 and nvidia mob?

Way the ATi cards are shaping up anyone buying a GTX 280 is mental.

2 x 4850's (~£260) are apparently thrashing the GTX 280 (~£450) sensless :D

I did, but I woke up this morning and thought "hang on though" if the 4850 in CF are anything to go by then a 4870 in CF should be somthing specail. The rampage is an excellent board, I wouldnt change it, running my Q6600 @ 3.8 with ease. Just need some GPU power, dont care what!
