The best story ever told, and will ever be told

“explain why this episode/what story what details is so good?”
It wasn’t good it was one of the worst episodes yet. I love BSG but was massively disappointed with that episode. It was far to rushed from 1min we are lost no idea where to go, to next minuet oo look we are at Earth. There should have been more of a gap with tensions and excitement rising as they get closer.

The whole story makes zero sense. I really hope they fill in the massive gaps as right now the story is full massive holes. Its like they are makeing it up as they go along without explaining anything.

“19 seconds in, all that technology and they still use pencils?“
Pencils make sense it’s the same reason why we use them on our space station over expensive other means. Pencils also allow you to rub out mistakes and change things.

EDIT: Also the Battlestar is a low tech museum ship and its low tech was the only reason it survived. It didn’t have lots of high tech stuff.

The new series.

It can't be explained, only watched, the entire thing from the 3 hour intro, through 3.5 seasons now is just perfect, the perfect story, script, acting, direction, musical score,

sublime and amazing, everything, this particular episode is the culmination and 'focus' of all this writing..............amazing but now they have left the last 10 episodes until later this year, maybe 2009, AGGGGGGHHHHH

I cannot give you plot details, it would ruin its awesomness

You have to watch it in a detailed sense start to finish, everything has meaning, so very clever, keep watching past season 2 it gets immense on a quite ridiculous scale

jesus, you people need to start watching some anime series, that **** will really blow you away.

Episode 10 is actually very poor compared to the first few seasons. I now consider this show fully x-fileized, in that the creators are completely making this up as they go along. If only for the fact that 2-4 of the final five happened to magically be on one of the 2 battlestars that weren't wiped out in the war.

Err you seem to be missing the whole 'one god' part of the storyline, its generally been accepted that now there seems to be a greater plan by a higher power, as there has been too much coincidence.
So you definately cant be more wrong.

I've just started watching this...I'm on season 1 episode 3, i haven't missed out on anything have i?

make sure you have watched the miniseries first, my mate dived straight into s1 and didnt have a clue what was going on :D

I would suggest that you avoid youtube videos, news articles and this entire thread, just incase you spoil certain plot details by mistake.

I hope you enjoy it! I wish I could erase Battlestar Galactica from my mind and watch it all from the beginning again!

As for the pencils... jeez, a fantastic scene like that and all people can comment on are the pencils?! Well, if you want to be really pedantic, if you look really closely, you can see the branding as they roll around on the console  :p

Don't think I've seen episode 10 yet but I'll have to get around to it.

I love Battlestar. This series is turning out to be ace!! :D

Errrr, I watched it last night, i really wasn't impressed at all... Was probably the best series 4 episode but that's not saying much.

Oh and... Cliffhanger? In what way was it a cliffhanger, i felt no suspense or indeed anything that said "omg i need to see the next episode". Such a disappointment after you talked it up so much.

Did you not think what has happened to earth and where the final cylon (number 5) is?
It is a good series I think but I'm not at the stage of wetting my Y-fronts waiting for the next episode like the OP is ;)

I really like it too, one of my favourite shows. The mid season finale was good as it actually went somewhere, but it did feel rushed because of the writers strike. I mean I liked the stand off when they were going to flush them out the airlock, they showed the tension well and it was good. Then it was just rush towards then end and it was just like, Lee: 'join forces', #3 '...k', everyone: 'yay earth woo... oh ****'. I don't think they were going to put the finding earth bit in that episode originally, but I think they wanted to a dramatic end and a bit of a cliff hanger to keep interest until next year.

Adama.... Battlestar... drop into atmosphere... FTL drive out.

Enough has been said.

Epic moment :D.

I've tried watching Battlestar Galactica a couple of times and never got very far so all I can say is that if that is the best story ever told then I'm feeling distinctly shortchanged.

To be fair some episodes are boring filler episodes like in all programs and I don't think it is as amazing as some people in this thread are making it out to be. There are some really good episodes and in general I think that it is a good program.
