Eek!!

So, I've been planning on buying a Porsche for a while. One came up on Monday that I already know the history of (know the owner). Very close to my ideal spec bar sat nav, bi-xenons, and colour (but it's fine). New tyres, brakes in excellent shape etc etc.

Only problem, has to go by July 1st so no time to dawdle, no time to sell existing car(s). Priced VERY well IMO.

Saw it tonight, and it's lovely, sounds AMAZING. Pending an OPC inspection later this week I'm having it.

Just having pains of self-doubt that I might be doing the wrong thing given the economic climate. It's a 100% cash purchase. No doubt it's a good deal in my mind.

What do you think? Sensible to splash out on a sports car at the moment? Help me out here!

Skiddi.

only you can decide if its a good decision. you know your personal circumstance :]

however, if you are dumping a load of cash on a porsche, its not like the current 'credit crunch' is likely to affect you soon :p

Awesome, a Boxster S. Proper Sports car. Dont forget to post pics so all the Vectra diesel and old banger drivers can berate you for owning a 'poor mans Porsche' whilst those of us with taste admire it ;)

:D Seal Grey '05 plate 987s. 19" carrera S wheels, heated black leather, Bose, etc etc.

No pics until she's mine. It'd only jinx the inspection.

that would take a few days to draw the cash out of the machine :p

excellent choice, except the colour :p

Nice, you bought a Boxster, you really must be living on the breadline :( Sorry to hear it!

Hehe, sounds brilliant :D Good on you for buying something you desire :D Want lots of pics when you get it!

I'm kind of in the same position been looking over Elises for the past month, looked at a few I was interested in but they went before I could make up my mind if I was doing the right thing or not buying what will pretty much be a weekend toy in the current climate, if I don't hurry up and stop having doubts summer will be over soon (if it ever actually starts) :)

Nope

BUT life is not a rehearsal and if it all goes wrong you can sell it and realise some cash if needed. Get it done and stop being a gayer!

My work is done here.

:D That's what I figured. Not a gayer tho....clearly :p

So what's the bread of choice these days so I can put the order in, still Hovis?

Sounds like a lovely car mate, looking forward to the pics! :)

As for the doubt, god yeah, if you commit to plonking a massive amount of cash on anything, you'll get that "What the hell have I just done" feeling, its just natural! Get it, enjoy it, and if the summer weather gets good (Raining and freezing right now here) enjoy it some more! :)
