Hi folks -
I'm not sure if I'm allow to 'promote' this really so sorry if this is breaking any rules?

SO.... I'm walking over 20ft of coals burning at 500 Degress Celsius.

It's not really like me to do this- but it's for a great cause. Multiple Sclerosis Therapy, specifically the Kent Therapy Centre in Canterbury.

It's taking place this Saturday, 21st June at the centre itself.

My Dad suffers from Multiple Sclerosis, it's bloody nasty and anything that can be done to help relief the suffering for people is a great thing.

Therefore, I am going to give this walking on *really* hot stuff a go to try and raise a few quid. Please give generously as it's not often i'll do something potentially painful for the benefit of others. It can't be as bad as having MS at the end of the day, so it's a small sacrifice to make :)

I've set up a sponsorship page at www.justgiving.com/seangetsburnt and I know you guys are really community minded when things like this come up. I'm hoping with your help I can smash this target. :) Let's OcUK it!

The whole thing is going to be filmed and probably stuck on YouTube so you'll be able to witness a large man burning himself and screaming like a small child. :p

Thanks in advance guys.

Sean

Is there a sponsorship page for the local burns unit as well? Might need to give them a bit too...

I've done it before and to me, it felt like walking on warm marshmallows, it's ace :D

Do you know who is running the event? More than likely they'll hype you up for about an hour beforehand, mind over matter and all that. You'll have great fun :)

I only found out last night from a mate i'm doing it with 'the leader firewalking instructor from the whole of UK and Europe' and apparently two hours instruction.

The thing is, mind over matter stuff doesn't really work on me :/

Lol, I wouldn't worry about that. Unless you stop on the coals and stand around for a while there is no way you'll burn your feet. It only feels slightly warm and besides, the run up to it is a good laugh.

Good luck! I've done one and it singed my leg hairs! Woo it was hot! Make sure they bring over some good hot red coals for you :D

Jonny, did it seriously singe your leg hairs?

Oh and it's not literally burning coals, it's all very fine embers that you'll be walking over which is why it feels so soft.
