*** ATI RADEON 4850 IN STOCK! ***

Gonna be Crossfire city over the next few weeks as people buy these, cant wait to see reviews of CF 4870 when both o/c too, expect results to be rapid

The 4850's aren't even officially in full availability yet and you expect the 4870 to be shown as a good price? :p

(read: early adopter price gouging aho!)

WHOOP WHOOP

All the above ordered , gonna have fun this weekend .

I hope this card is quicker than a 8800GTS 512 mb ,, or i will cry.

I would have got a p45 board though in case you wanted to go xfire later as the p35 will restrict you.

I don't know if it will be. The 06 benchmark at the top of the page that Yewen did is slightly lower than what i get with the same spec and a GTS. I'm gonna wait to see what other benchmarks say :)

Has nobody looked at the links with reviews showing that the 4850 beats a 9800GTX and hence since that beats a GTS G92 - QED?

P45 boards aren't too good with crossfired 4850s, they seem to bottleneck them, though not as much as a P35 I suppose. An X38/48 would have been the better option though.

Again I will stress about competitor hinting. Please do not as I do not want to start hitting accounts.

Wondered the same thing myself, i went on the kind of warranties the brand supplier with other ATI cards. And if this is the case then

HIS/OCUK - 2 Years
ASUS/Sapphire - 1 Year

But an official line would be good :)

Give it time, I'm sure the info will be forth-coming :)

Really? How come? Link please.

I thought since the p45 boards were pci-e 2.0 with 8x they would be the same as two 16x pci-e boards with bandwidth so they shouldn't be any hit.

The bandwidth of the 4850's aren't enough to use the 16x pci-e 2 bandwidth otherwise people would be reporting performance hits with a single card in a pci-e 1.0 slot?

If true, guess it's just a bios glitch and should soon be sorted.

Just read the review of the p45 vs x48. Interesting as I noticed two things:

1) Crysis performance looked unusually low considering the test setup (4ghz quad and two 4850's in crossfire, even at 1280*1024. Something not right there surely?
2) Was seriously surprised at the bottleneck on the p45, given the massive bandwidth it offers already, I'm slightly sceptical as it seems funny that it would be saturated!

Defo something to think about if your getting these 48xx series stuff for crossfire.

Can't wait to see some reviews on the 4870 if you are saying sub £200 price .... the way that 4850 is going the 4870 may not be an awful lot behind the GTX280 .... but reported load temps of 95 deg are worrying, especially as no-one makes a WB yet.
