*** ATI RADEON 4850 IN STOCK! ***

Hmmm ...I guess that means even longer wait for 4870 1GB models :(

Isn't it weird how the card's out and hardly any official reviews from the known hardware websites

Like who?

From memory just Toms hardware still didn't have anything up.

I think the nda caught a lot of them on the hop. It got brought forward and they hadn't finished doing their reviews so they were a bit slow in coming out.

My only concern that I see is this singular comment on the anandtech review:
With two 4850s paired up in CrossFire, we once again ran into issues with our power supply. Our 1000W OCZ EliteXStream wasn't always enough for the dual-GPU setup and in Call of Duty 4 our system rebooted in the middle of our test at 2560 x 1600. Thankfully OCZ sent us a PC Power & Cooling Turbo Cool 1200W unit that is certified for use with GeForce GTX 280 SLI, and if it works on that beast, it had better work with a pair of 4850s in CrossFire

Oh ... I googled 4850/70 review and came up empty apart from forum speculatons and previews lol

i was thinking of getting one with a HX 620 was was wondering if that would be enough for xfire with a 4850/4870?

also, the gigbyte warranty. how long is it and do they have a UK RMA centre?

I was going to get one of these but after reading reviews I dont think it is a worth upgrade over my 8800GT, not much in it tbh, will have to wait on the 4870's.

620 should do but we used a 750w in our benchmarking - re Gigabyte we are waiting for confirmation but at least 12 months.

thanks.

mmm, well with both the TX750 and the HX620 being the same price, im now stuck LOL, a little help? i am a cable mangment freak, so i was thinking the HX620, but i can hide cables easy, so that wont be a problem with non modular........

and with corsair announcing an EU/UK RMA centre, i will be choosing their PSUs.

looking at the OcUK site, seing both 2 years and 1 year Gigabyte gfx waranties. :(

To be honest I did look and see the xstream and think it's prob not enough amps as it's that PSU, but posted anyway. I have a Corsair HX520W so not very worried anyway... just good to know that I'm right in thinking I needn't have posted the quote lol.
