I would love Simpson to get a chance in our defence (as a stand in for Brown when not avaiable / League Cup games etc) but Im just not sure this will happen, and as stated above while OH can play there, his talents lie further forward (even orthodox RW if necessary) so I think we need another RB, whether its Ramos or someone younger/cheaper is another matter

Brown did fantastically well imo, but doesnt mean we shouldnt wish for even better :D

Think we need competition for Evra, LW (given that theoretically Nani is better on the right) and a striker for sure

edit - rumour has it that Lahm wasnts to stay for another year to see how Bayern do next year (and its the last year of his contract isnt it) but agree he would be an excellent buy

Lahm is a very good player but like I've said in other threads we'd have a very small team with Lahm in it, especially with Ronaldo leaving. Thats why I'm not fussed if Brown continues, or if we were to ever sign Richards.

I'd like to see him on the receiving end of one of Wilfred Bouma's! (if he timed it correctly, that is).
 
Vidic is better than Terry and Laursen combined I'm afraid. I've never seen a person so dominant in the air since Steve Bruce.

As for Bouma's tackles? Can't say I've noticed them, certainly not against us last season ;).

I always come back to what I know.

(But I need an admin to make the a a capital on my name if possible!!)
 
Wes brown is a decent defender but not a special one like the other 3 in the defense.
Going forward he's a little predictable and gives the ball away too much.
Defensively, hes full of commitment and effort but always prone to a random silly mistake.
He's perhaps carried slightly by the defensive unit and maybe would not stand out at a mid table team.
Still, he's generally solid enough, as long as the others continue to contribute to an outstanding unit which protects him somewhat.
