2008 French Grand Prix - Race 8/17

Well Senna has managed to get pole for the first GP2 race, crossing the liine sideways then crashing...

Just like his uncle, anything to be number 1.

Are we getting rain today then? Thats what autosports 5 day weather forecast says.

EDIT:

Link: http://www.autosport.com/f1/weather.html

But the live weather reporter says sunny all day and maybe rain after the race tomorrow (http://live.autosport.com/commentary.php/id/20). Why does the link above say thunderstorms all weekend then?!?! Weather forecasts are supposed to show the predominant weather for the day.

I've seen that done many times racing in GTR and GTL too!
Had a fair few races ruined with that last chicane. But also gained some positions from people totalling there cars on the last lap too!

Good that BMW have 0 stress anymore by achieving their goals, hopefully push more into their 2009 effort. Would be good to see Kubica have a real shot at winning the WDC, he seems pretty decent. Certainly enjoy hearing what he has to say more than Hamilton.

Didn't look like much fun in his BMW today, I hope they sort it out for the next session.

Edit: I hate this advert for the Ford Kuga, they hark on about "starting with a blank canvas" then show us this stinking raft of ****. It looks exactly the same as all the other "tall" Fords and pointless Urban off-roaders... (Is that the lame terminology again?)
Whoever thought that was a nice looking design needs shot.

What the? Heikki was stuck behind the Williams, there was nothing he could do?

What will be funny is if LH manages to out score HK tomorrow :D

and while were at it paint them all yellow and give them doors that randomly spring open, that should make it more exciting.

What?

Ban fuel stops - as JRS has pointed out, they bring no benefit to the sport.

Ban rear wings - the rear end aero of current designs is what prevents other cars from following closely. Remove the rear wing and you let the cars run closer to each other and move the focus of the cars back to mechanical grip which brings us to...

Give them slicks - happening anyway.

Bring back forced induction - with the caveat of rigidly enforced fuel capacities and no refuelling, the extra efficiency offered by forced induction could be key...Obviously working at a reduced capacity to any n/a designs...Perhaps half the capacity and 2/3 the rev limit? Give them a standardised ECU and stop them from running 5bar in qualifying trim and it could work...
