First project at uni was about Ekranoplanes, what a heap of ****, why ask a bunch of first years to make a working model of something that never actually worked.

They did work, do work and are still being developed all over the world. Ekranoplane is what Russians call them and they had problems, but GEVs are in commercial use afaik

I sometimes wonder, if women ruled the world, whether these marvels would see the light of day. I think the whole macho testosterone-fuelled pursuit of big sod off aggressive machinery has definitely done the world a favour in many ways (some may argue against building stuff to blow each other up though).

No offence to women, but I think it's more a male thing to push things to the limit

Pffft. the f-117 sucks. when they go into sharp turns the wings fall off!
the paint is toxic to the ground crew, and if it gets scratched then the plane is radar visible!

Yes it's big but it's nowhere near as semi inducing as the Tomahawk is
