First "real" HD4870 benchies @ HKEPC

I couldn't find this in any other thread, and with the RV770 thread being about a gazillion pages long I figured with it being a lovely lazy Sunday that these would get some good discussion going.

First real 4870 benches by a forumite @ HKEPC:

Is it? I did'nt notice that... but shouldn't have too much impact if the lane is running at a full 16x? It is the 512MB version though, shame they didn't have the 1GB version.

It was posted in the rumour thread on Rage3D no source was given, but apparently the GTX 280 results are correct so perhaps it's real.

Too much consistency in the scaling between low mid high.

I wouldn't trust them, internal benchmarks aren't they (as big AMD logo slapped on em), so if are, then obviously they aint gong to show their card looking **** (even if it was).

Well the other cards results are real, doesn't mean the 4870 ones are valid though

I'll wait for a proper comparison I reckon. Although to be fair, it wouldn't surprise me if the 4870 did match/beat the GTX260 in a reasonable amount of scenarios, presuming the 4850 is memory bandwidth limited at any rate.

AMD leaks often look crap. I mean look at the slide that showed 800 shaders at first, it looked like a right pile of jpegified stool.

The results in the OP are the ones worth looking at as they're from an actual user... not the AMD slides...

Is it me or is that 06 score lower than the 4850 card :confused:
