Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots *Snaaaaake! Edition*

Just import, makes it feel more special that way. Something your friends don't have. :D

Was thinking of that but as Tefal said, as they are quite rare to come by they will be more than the average console sells for and i don't have money to burn at the moment unfortunately :\

got this game today , any chance someone can get me up to date with the story so far up till mgs4 , as the last one i played i think was mgs2

cheers

Best way is to download the MGS database from the US or Japan store, all MGS4 stuff is spoilered until you finish MGS4, well apart from it doesn't work for EU game, and will need a US save when you finish MGS4.

seems a bit complicated for me , is there not anywhere i can get a short story so far ?

Game trailers had a retrospective on the MGS series, there's a few mentioned in this thread. Make sure you dont watch any to do with MGS4 though, there are also links on wiki on all the MGS series, i think only MGS4 is a spoiler for you.
One other place is this thread on the gaf
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=303161
Only read the first page though as it has a few little (and big spoilers covered), but its one of the best threads i have read for a long while, so much time and effort.

I personally don't see why you guys want a remake of MGS3 already  And if they do remake it, I hope they find a way to change camo more quickly.

Lol are you trying to be funny? :D
Well... I'm not entirely sure but I think this DVD (can be found on auction) covers most of what you need to know.

Can anyone confirm?

Also, does anyone know if there's a way I can get hold of the Making Of DVD?

OH btw, for anyone who hasn't finished the game yet: do not read down the first page of Kotaku right now. Deadly spoilers. You have been warned.

Yeah it's good for knocking out enemies too. You can aim and press either square or triangle (I can't remember) and the little robot will stun them with a shock whip. In certain situations you can also use it to activiate/deactivate certain elements as well. You can also pick up items off the floor - it's basically like a safety scout drone that will do some basic actions for you to make your path ahead of you just a little bit safer. Most people on their first playthrough probably won't use it at all, or won't see the significance and usefulness of it, but it's a lifesaver and very valuble if you really want to make the most of your tools and take the time to scout ahead and soften the approach a little.

I just picked up a PS3 2nd hand purely for Blu-Ray as I have a 360 for games already. Wondered if it was worth picking a copy of this up though? Is it a long game?

I finished it in just under 18hrs and that's with watching the all the cutscenes, so it's not particularly long, it's just the right balance.

It's deffo worth picking up, best game this gen if you want my opinion, it's also great for showing off what your new toy can do, best graphics and sound I have experienced this gen too.

18 hours seems good to me :)

I'll probably look at picking it up then, cheers.

I'm replaying MGS1 for the third time and I'm still amazed at how great this game is. Last time I played MGS1 was 8 years ago! So, this it feels all fresh, a lot of things I've forgot about the first one.

Gonna replay MGS4 once I replay MGS1 & 2 again.
