2008 French Grand Prix - Race 8/17

Dunno why Allen wants to see that overtake from 10 other angles clearly all 4 of Hamiltons wheels were well off the track.

It's more to do with where the Toro Rosso was.
If he was well past the Toro Rosso, as it appears, when he went off the track, then why the penalty? *apart from the It's a McLaren - BAN THEM! responce from certain quarters*

It does seem that the FIA do have it in for McLaren though. It's almost as if the stewards have orders from on high. ;)

It was obvious he was not going to make the corner without running on. Why they just didnt give the place and then re-take it I just don't understand.

He lacks racecraft imo. Very fast driver mind you but like in Brazil last year just lacks racecraft. Schumi should have a word with him.

Afternoon guys,

Not too suprised by Hamiltons drive-through - only way he could make that overtake was to take more speed into the corner and unfortunately for him he took way too much and therefore cut the corner to complete the overtake - seems quite clear cut to me...

Like the majority of top-end drivers coming from the back he got stuck as soon as he hit the sharp end (which surprising was Piquet) - hopefully next years changes help that...

He really is over-driving that car and appears to be quite ragged, but part of that is his driving style. Gonna be a boring race methinks :(

ps3ud0

So if he accelerates all the way through the chicane, that's fine?

It's fine elsewhere if you cut a chicane if you do not use it to take a place or maintain a place - if he was as far in front of the Toro Rosso as it appears then Vettel *?* would not have been able to take the place back.

Look at the number of people who go across the Nouvelle Chicane at Monaco during the race.
