Hello,

I've got an ageing PC with an Asus P4S533 motherboard and the old GeForce 4600Ti AGP graphics card just went pop.

The kids are most disappointed as they now have to go out in the fresh air to entertain themselves. Unfortunately this has lead to a serious side affect: WoW withdrawl :)

Can you please recommend a replacement. I was considering the; HIS ATI Radeon HD 3850 Pro Turbo 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (AGP) - Retail.

I did look at the AGP guide sticky here but I can't find any of the recommended AGP cards on OcUK.

Thank you

Ian.

Hiya,

A nephew of mine has that one or the saphire version but that card, He's still gaming away and never mentions any problems

Games come with it too from OcUK which is a nice kid-bonus

I say it's a darn good card

Ciao

yeah the 3850 AGP is the best AGP card. What are the full specs of your PC? For a lower spec PC it would be a better buy to get a 7600 gt ( maybe 2nd hand) which will be a lot more powerful than the 4600ti. I've had both cards.

Infact there are quite a few AGP cards you could get for next to nothing that would be a lot better than the 4600ti, even the 6600gt would be worth a look for the right price.
