I'm going on a shopping trip tomorrow, and will be trying on (again) the below and the Planet Ocean (shown at the bottom).

A decision will be made tomorrow between one of these two!

Thoughts?

Omega is nicer looking but after my experiance with Omega i wouldnt touch them with a barge pole!

Assuming it's just a crappy picture then the top one. I prefer a watch that has numbers rather than numerals or marks though. Not that I've actually worn one in around 10 years.

Hmm ok on looks alone I agree but the PO is also 3.5 times more expensive :( and the Oris is good quality for the cash, and has a clear back for that something extra. Not sure how amenable dealers are to discounts on Oris though - should I be punting for 20% or is that taking the mickey? It's a high street retailer.

The Oris is 44mm but wears small, and the PO just looked the perfect size, but the Oris has a curved back so fits better and closer than the PO. Although the PO looks better, the Oris just somehow fitted better.

Another problem with the Oris is the slightly blingy and wider bracelet compared to the PO.

Just can't make my mind up!

I'll ditto that.

I have no personal experience of Omega (and now never will) but my mate had to take his back, and back, and back, etc. Then they replaced it, and he had to take that one back, and back, and so on.

Eventually they swapped it for a Tag Heuer.

Well I tried them both on and I thoroughly didn't like the Oris but totally adored the PO, which is bad news for my wallet! The Oris is too chunky looking and I didn't like the polished strap. Also the face is actuall uglier than in the photo.

I almost bought the PO but they only offered a derisory £150 off the RRP (7.5%) for which I almost wet my pants and told them to go whistle (this was Goldsmiths so perhaps no surprise). Anyway I'm going to hunt round for some smaller independent dealers in the hope of finding a better discount, but the good news is I have found my watch.

P.S. - maybe I should go second hand?
