Alphabeat - 10,000 Nights

Alphabeat are currently laughing their socks off.
Apparently they have been rather popular all over Europe with the exception of the UK.
Is this because we have "some taste"? :)
No - damn clever marketting!

They have already released five albums accross Europe, have been successful and made plenty of money.
So now they can hit the UK running.
5 albums - release 3-4 singles and then release the album.
They can now come to the UK and for the next 4-5 years do nothing but slowly release their back catalogue and make loads of money!
Clever work or what.

Incorrect. They formed in 2004 but didn't release their debut album anywhere until they released it in Denmark in March 2007. They only have one album which has been released in the UK.

Even if you were right, why would that be a problem? Should they not be allowed to make money from the music they made?

Funny - I don't actually remember saying there was a problem.
All I said was that it was extremely clever marketting.
To have a back catalogue large enough so that you can make loads of money again from something you released many years ago.

Don't remember saying there was anything wrong with doing that at all

Them and the Ting Tings are responsible for some of the only Pop music worth listening to this year so far. Yes they're annoying, but they're catchy and hey, it's them or the Sugarbabes.....shudder.......... :-)

I have a grudge against Alphabeat since whacking my rear on the floor full pelt ice skating while Fascination was playing loud as hell in the background. :p

I had tickets to see them in Sheffield a couple of months back, after to listening to a few songs I'm glad I didn't go.
