I'm quite happy with the above setup, but with the following issues:

CPU : OEM was £10 cheaper as wanted to get a 3rd party cooler. But get less warranty, worth it ??

Motherboard : Decent enough for the price ?

OEM CPUs have 1 year warranty compared to 3 years of the retail CPUs, however if you are overclocking then you've technically voided the warranty anyway.

I don't know too much about the motherboard yet but if the P45 chipset is anything like the P35 then it should be decent enough and all are much of a muchness.

Have Happy moments with your new rig, nice setup. ps I'am waitng for newer 4870 and Intels newer cpu plus motherboard back end off this year, its when I will make my purchase.

The reviews so far put the p45's much closer to the X chips than the p35 chips. Great chip the p45.

Technically no, it's highly unlikely unless you do something really stupid like trying to put 2v through it and it melts the CPU that anyone could tell. But you'd know, can you live with the guilt?
