Need student content insurance

I'm moving away in a couple of days and I just realised that my net disconnects tomorrow (fail) and I still haven't got content insurance. I need some recommendations from companies that also accept custom built pc's.

I may also be living at a friends temporarily. So if I were to insure it at my friends address and then change over to a new place after about say 2 weeks or so, what's the procedure like?

I would also appreciate it if you can give me an estimate on how much it will set me back for approx, a year

Most of my mates are with Endsleigh - not sure about the PC though.

Endsleigh are a rip off - I'd stay well clear.

Your first port of call should be to check with your parents insurer. I was insured all thoughout uni (halls + private) on my parents home insurance covered up to £40,000 for no extra cost. Well worth checking.

No, unfortunately they don't.

Just got a quick quote, fully comp for up to £6k for £93. Is that reasonable?

Endsleigh are fantastic for contents, was with them my whole time at uni. Reasonable on PCs too, and mobile phone cover. Avoid them for "specialist" other items though, since they operate on a free-per-value basis that can make some items horribly expensive.

Same here, and have been since I left Uni as well.

Still, never had to claim, so can't really pass judgement on if they are actually any good or not
