The Feser Company: Xchanger 480 Quad Rad Preview!

Think it would be best to compare it to a Thermochill, from there you can compare it to just about everything else.

ATI launch has tied me up today but tommorrow I will see what I can do with it. :)

For testing equipment use a DDC or D5 please.

General comparison to the PA 120.3 with Low CFM and high CFM fans and C/W rating.

As it has space for 4 x 120mm fans, would it be an idea to test it against a thermochill system that had one 120.3 and one 120.1 in the loop? It looks like an absolute monster :)

I am wondering, does there come a point when adding a bigger rad brings very little in the way of temp reduction? Like what sort of difference would you see between a double-rad and a quad-rad if you were just cooling the CPU with it?

I'm assuming a bigger rad is more useful for cooling extra components instead of dropping your CPU temps a few extra degrees?

You can only ever cool to room temperature just with standard water cooling.

The quad comes in when say your running a couple of graphics cards and need that little bit more cooling power.

Either that or you own a Prescott chip still. :D

A 120.1 + a 120.3, doesn't make a 120.4. So any test to that end would be purely for reference, not comparison.

Where would a 120.4 be of use where for example 2x 120.2 loops could give better performance?

The only area I can see a 120.4 being of benifit over a 120.3 (of the same design) is with a powerful TEC on a CPU/GFX card. I guess the question is; how good is the radiator design?

The difference between a double and quad rad is only going to be noticable with large heat loads. With just a Yorky for example I doubt you would notice any difference at stock or even with a decent clock.

Watching this with interest as i am going to redo my 2.5yr old loop this year (apart from cpu block. Don't see any point as any block available now is'nt going to fit Nehalem unless the manufacturers offer new fittings). Anyway, can you tell me the overall length of this rad please? If it's any good i need to know if it will fit in my window. :D

Will it fit in a Silverstone TJ07?

If so, might consider it depending if it beats Thermochill PA120.3

Pinching nokinidea's picture from his 'Noob watercooling' thread, it looks like a 120.4 would fit in the bottom.
