I'm looking for breakdown cover and whilst I'll be commuting fairly local to work, once a month I'll be coming home with is approx 300 miles both ways and I'd like some sort of cover.

Has anyone every used a pay and claim service such as AutoAid before? Seems like fantastic value for money. Yes the procedure is a little extra, but I doubt that I'll be breaking down often.

I need to make a decision by tonight as my net disconnects.

I'd appreciate any feedback/advice.

Nope but plenty of people use a similar recovery service, I use europe assist which is something like 55quid for a year for homecall full service, about half the price of aa overpriced service for what you get.

I just took out a breakdown insurance policy with AXA through moneysupermarket, its unlimited and costs around £32 per year. It covers everything, home starting, home relay anywhere in the UK, etc etc. Why people use services such as the AA i have no clue.

How did you get AXA up on your results? I've tried a variety of searches and these guys aren't included

Its labelled as "rescue my car" or something, the policy is actually with AXA though :) I did it last november so the exact pricing may have changed.

I get good discounts on MOT's and servicing with the AA which i can use on all 5 cars on the house so it saves me a fair few bob over the year and the breakdown recovery is a just in case thing, i look after my car too well and i'll notice anything before it packs up on my completely.

I'm just going for an ADAC policy I think then I have European cover as well. I've had an auto aid policy before. The only problem is you've got to be able to fork out the money to pay for any recovery and then claim it back off them. That's why its cheap I guess.
