The Incredible Hulk ** NO Spoilers**

Watched it -

The hulk wasn't strong enough in my opinion. Covering your face when being SHOT at ? come on now.

The more hulk gets attacked, the more powerful he becomes. In every movie from marvel it seems half the characters get toned down (Phoenix and Magneto from xmen are great examples). But what happened to hulk being able to jump the distance in the first movie, in the end fight on this one he was jumping up parts of the building at a time ?

A good movie sure - but as a marvel fan I was a bit disappointed (as was another marvel fan I know).

That's a daft comment to make imo... the Hulk is not 100% invincible, and he is not an emotionless being... he gets mad, he gets scared, and he feels pain. Does anyone want a bullet in the eye? Would you... if you were Hulk? I'd call face covering a normal reaction, considering he is essentially a human deep inside. His strength was portrayed perfectly in the speed he picked things up and threw them.

I'm not sure if you're aware of this but for reference... this is not a sequel to the first movie. To have him leaping miles would be out of synch with the film... he was jumping in accordance with his strength. Don't forget he weighs several tons, and was putting his hands through brick to climb. That would take an enormous amount of strength. This movie wasn't about sheer comic book over-the-top-ness, it was about maintaining a believable (within the parameters) atmosphere. They carried it off very, very well.

You can't expect a flawless comic book translation every time... what may work in a series of simple static images on paper does not always translate well to the silver screen!

Yeah I made that mistake - what a crock of **** that was.

Thanks for the good write-up about it :) wasn't too sure about this one, but will probably give it a go this weekend.

You're welcome sweetie, enjoy it. :)

Have you read the comments ?

He isn't invicible but a BULLET doesn't do anything to him.

He actually punched superman (in a cross over) so hard he knocked superman thru dimensions! when superman came back he just stood there and TOOK the hits, because he knew fighting back would actually make hulk more angry - eventually the hulk become tired because he wasn't fighting back. The hits were (and I quote) "strong enough the shockwaves leveled mountains". My friend used to be a massive hulk fan.

I don't expect a flawless translation - but when shooting at the the hulk with a pistol causes him to wince - something is wrong.

Marvel. ous.

Just saw this for the first time, i thought it was fantastic. I'm actually a bit shocked, i expected it to be awful, the special effects were fantastic.

This is the problem of having a 'reboot' film so soon after the previous incarnation (batman begins was a reboot of batman as an example, it's where you take the same concept but start from scratch), especially considering they used the same title. The number of people i've spoken to who say it's rubbish, but then i point out it's the second one i'm talking about, then they reply 'there's a second one?!' are huge.

honestly preferred Ang Lee's version... This version didnt feel like Hulk...the way they did it seemed to detract from the mythos of Hulk to me.
Just one supersoldier vs another. Add some nice special effects and thats all i got from it. 6/10

What are you talking about? It was great! Unless you are referring to the 2003 film.

What am I talking about? I'm talking about the actual film in this topic - not the 2003 film. In 1080p the CGI looks bad, much worse than even some older films. Now that you've mentioned the 2003 film, yeah the CGI in this 2008 film is still not that much better. It may look a little more darker and grittier with darker fleshtones on the hulk and non purple trousers plus pulsing veins (which is slightly easier on the eyes than the 2003 film) but the CGI to me is still pretty awful. The only thing worth seeing in this film is Edward Norton.

Yes it was greenlizard, i think its in preparation for something like this (the link contains a potential spoiler for anyone who hasn't seen the incredible hulk movie)
