Finally found a stand for my G25

Ironging board = win (ish)

Mine from the 'laminated book of dreams' wobbles a bit due to bad engineering at the crossover point of the main diagonal beams, but will be going back to the place with the 'laminated book of dreams' to get the posh £30 board which looks sturdy as hell. Plus the Mrs can attempt to iron on it after I'm done :D

I was thinking of the playseat, but its £229 or so for the evolution, and I'd heard that the cheaper older ones dont support the G25 or X360 wheels without modification.

Bit more than I would want to play but Ive had a G25 for ages and maybe only used it for 5hrs. Attaching it to a desk is just too annoying...

Definitely consider it, though it would be need to be nearer £50 than £100 to make it a must buy. I guess with such a niche product the price wont change massively so I guess Id better get saving/justifying...

Its just arrived today :) Havent had time to set it up yet though as had to go to work. Unwrapped it and first impressions are good - decent quality materials and nice and heavy. I'll update you tonight.

Quite relieved as I still get a bit nervous spending over £100 on paypal to Poland, but they said 5 days and it was exactly that :)

If you go to your closest local scrapyard, you can normally pickup most of the materials needed to build your own if your interested. ;)

I wouldnt mind doing it, but I dont have space for a semi/permanent layout.

ok, had a little play with it now so here's my thoughts.

Positives:
its well made and sturdy.
very little lateral movement
extremely adjustable - you should be able to get comfy with any seat
with the g25 the gearstick position is actually very natural and you can put it on the left or right

Negatives:
the instructions are pretty poor
the way the gearstick clamps down with hard plastic extensions isn't great and no matter how hard you tighten it there's still movement, although its not noticeable in normal play

Similarly the bracket for the g25 is just a smooth bit of metal that sits between the wheel base and the main unitgain, fine on gaming but if you try and fold the unit and pick it up by the wheel it comes away from the base.

There's a fair amount of vertical movement on the wheel, no matter how much you tighten the bolt. Not a huge issue by could be improved.

It would have been nice to have had a bit of thought put into cable tidying

The pedals for the g25 fit perfectly and don't need securing, but the 360 ones were sliding all over the place. A small clamp would sort it out.

Overall despite the negatives mentioned its a good bit if kit. I think I'll mod it a bit to make it perfect. A more secure gearstick and wheel clamp and a bit of trucking for the cables should be fine

so overall I'm pleased with it. Its not cheap but if you want something portable and east to store its probably the best solution out there, especially for the g25

Thanks for the feedback... I think I am sold to be honest.

As soon as I can get the pennies, I am grabbing myself one.

Some pics would be cool :)

I've emailed them and asked if a new version will have proper fixings for the G25 (into screw holes) and also hide the cables inside the shaft.

Did you get anything back?

Cant see past getting the WM301 for ~£20 ;). Cheap and has 2 purposes :D

Yeah did hint at cables running down the insides, I did ask again for screw fixings for each component (G25 slides around on desk so could be the same)

oh still have faulty G25, logitech being anal about replacing it, going to contact visa and inform them about it.
