Xbox Live - The worst community ever?

Really, I knew XBL was supposed to be pretty bad, plagued with 12 year old Americans calling you a fag down their MIC....etc, but I didn't expect it to be quite this bad.

I haven't actually encountered a single decent person so far. I've had a huge amount of hate messages mostly after beating someone on MK3. I constantly get text and voice messages with things like "You suck britfag ** a failure just like ** country" "go suck some **** fag" "yeah you might hav beaten me but ** british so **** you" "yeah u beat me but u play kabal noob so stfu i could beat you in a real fight anyday" "hahah stupid british u suck and fail just like your countrymen"

Earlier I was playing UNO and in the middle of the game one of the players just sent me a message simply saying "U SUCK ******" for no apparent reason.

Every single online game I have played is just saturated with young American white kids constantly exchanging insults with eachother, typically calling eachother either fag or ******.

I swear it's the worst community ever. Even 4chan has more decency.

This is where the PS3 is better imo, there just seem to be a better crowd for some bizarre reason, there are a few decent people on live, but not many.

And, edit out those swearies fella, forum rules and all.
 
Erm. You might want to do a bit more starring out there. But yes, it sounds nasty. Perhaps try finding out who on here plays the games you like, and set up some matches with them - might find them a happier crowd! Don't have Live myself though (still on a PS2...).
 
I only had 1 bad "message" - and that's from some random twit I killed on COD4. I don't add random tom dick and harry on my friends list and I block / un-prefer players that are either racist or squeaks higher than my girlfriend (and mind you, she can speak quite high when excited)

Xbox Live isn't bad, just be selective.

Also, speaking less / not being an arrogant **** on Xbox Live will land you with a pretty list of decent players.
 
I think the reason you meet less people that are ******* on PS3 is because much less people have mics. You are probably playing with a bunch of ****** but you don't know it.
 
since playing cod4 on the 360 my opinions on the "community" has gone down quite a bit...having said that its only the poor losers (mainly americans) that tend to mouth off! i just have a good laugh at them. Its only a game after all.
 
I find it hilarious :D If it gets too much (e.g playing music, singing etc) I just mute them.

Although lately I've been muting everyone I come across (those who arent in my party)
 
I'm not standing up for anyone here. But things like "bad community" come down to the ratio of normal : idiots. Also the majority maybe Americans. But their are a lot more Americans on Live.

The fact that the 360 includes a headset in the box also does/doesn't help.

I was just in a COD4 game and it kicked off between the British and Americans. We are no better than them and saying things like "Go eat a Cheese burger you fat ****" is just lame.

I have had A LOT of good times on Live and met a load of quality people (virtually).
 
One of the reasons I sold my 360 elite. Cod4 on the ps3 still suffers from these people but there were so many more of these idiots on the 360 version of cod4 that I just stopped playing on the 360 and moved over to the ps3.

Though I have to admit, most amerifags are really easy to wind up if they start getting abusive or try to wind you up. :D

Happens a lot in CoD4 :p

Sometimes it's all good banter, sometimes some of them get a bit carried away.

On the whole though most people I come across are fine, and playing with people from here tends to reduce the retard factor.

I was referring to the people who I have spoken to, or communicated with.
 
I tend to find it ok, it depends on the game. GTA and Saints Row are terrible for racism and swearing. Halo I actually find ok, you get the odd annoying kid but then I've played with some nice people on there as well.
 
Fight fire with fire to be honest...
Its best when you kick there arse in a game, they throw you some abuse and then you reply with something like "shut it before i **** your mom again and land you with a little brother/sister"...
 
Its amusing really, every game almost always is guaranteed to have racist remarks, and every kind of swear going. I either turn the mic down, ignore them or go out of my way to totally own them in the game, and listen to their reaction! Lets be honest aswell, it is mostly americans that are idiots on the mic.

I'm sure there are still very annoying people on PSN aswell, your just lucky at the moment.
