!!!IN STOCK ATI 4870!!!

ATI = AMD not as good as NVIDIA or INTEL

I can see how that works, ATi's mid/high end card is just off the pace of Nvidias super high end which is practically a 100% price hike for 10% performance boost. The card it is competing with really the GTX 260 is £50 more on here atleast and slower.

YOUR POST = RANDOM AND POINTLESS AS WELL AS WRONG

So do these cards work in PCI-E 1.0 motherboards?
It should work in most 1.0a boards. See here for second hand reporting of an official source. The rule of thumb seems to be that if one of the 38xx or recent NV 8/9 series worked then you should be OK.

We went through this loop when the 3870 and 8800GT came out. The only sticking point was some specific implementations of ASUS boards with their proprietary crossfire linkage and mixed 1.1/1.0a slots. There was an article about it on the ASUS website knowledge base somewhere.

My 3870 has been working fine in a DFI NF-Ultra (PCI 1.0a) for months.
