Not sure really where to post this, so I came here.

My Dad has a Widescreen 32" CRT Phillips TV. The other day I was in the menu trying to change some settings on the screen when suddenly the remote stopped accepting any input and the letter "F" now appears in the top right corner of the screen all the time.

It's still like that now, turning off the TV won't get rid of it.

Basically, it wont respond to the remote control in any way (although the light on the TV still flashes to confirm you have pressed a button) and theres a letter "F" permanently on the screen; the buttons on the TV still work to control it.

Any ideas?

...Factory mode. Allows adjustments.

Thanks - thats exactly what I needed!

One problem: Before you posted that I thought it may have been the child lock, so I used the TV's own controls to change the child lock.

Now the TV is child locked and in factory mode, so the remote doesn't work and nor do the on screen buttons!
It won't turn on anymore, just sits in sleep mode.

Is there a way to clear the TV's built in memory and reset it totally to defaults? I realise this probably varies from TV to TV and I dont have the model number.
