Looking for a good 30" screen to do photos and video work with. Looked at the Dell but the reviews are not great and for £1000 i expected more i guess.

What would you guys say is a good screen?

Also the Hazro HZ30 as it uses the same panels (S-IPS) as other 30" models. Badass from tftcentral should have a review up soon.

It's more akin to an Apple Cinema Display in that you only get DVI input, so it does one thing and does it well.

Everyone is claiming the Hazro is best but no one has bought one and there's no review?

We now have 3x 3008WFP's REV A01's in the office all working perfedctly now after 2 were initially replaced from REV A00

The concern I would have with the Hazro is it's not proven , as with the 24's initially they looked superb but as with all this new kit from new manufacturers once it get's out in the field the various problems arise and the warranty comes into question.

For me the Dell has some minor issues but is backed up with a superb next day replacement warranty service for the FULL warranty period whereas Hazro only the first year is on site (read the terms)

DONT touch the dell 3008 , I had 3 rev A01 , all 3 had to back light bleed issues and had to
be returned to OCuk , its just a pity OCuk wont refund my return postage charges tho , last thing I ever buy from them.

You've had 3! REV A01's also , this is concerning for us as we have three in the office all of which are ok - so far.

I thought under distance selling regulations you do not pay return postage costs - and you certainly do not pay postage if the item purchased is defective

You've just replied in the thread about the Hazro where I've done a mini-review.

In a nutshell the 30" Hazro is a fantastic buy for the money, just make sure it's calibrated correctly.

Sadly OCuk dont seem to follow the law on that one , I asked if they could pick the monitors up but they refused and said I had to send them back.

I said , but they are 30" screen that weigh 20Kg that will cost and arm and a leg to post back , they said no problem we will refund it.

I sent off the receipts and they said best we will do is refund 50% of the cost ( they have yet to refund any money so far - 1 month later )

So I am out over £120 postal charges , but at least they gave me my money back on the defective screens.
Its a bit sad really because I spend a fair amount on PC parts , its just from now on OCuk wont see any of that money.

Looking into taking them to small claims court at the moment.

Yea OCUk arent the best at customer service it can be said sometimes!

Good luck with that as its outrageous how much you've had to pay for a faulty product!

2 problems with majority of the 30"s

1) Lack of inputs (the Dell 3008 is one of the few that has a decent amount imo , especially considering the money)

2) OCUK seem to be having stock problems with most of the ones they offer

I was told by one of the Dell returns managers that they aren't making 3008s any more anyway. I consider myself to be rather lucky that i only had to endure 1 replaced A01 3008 and the one i got in return was excellent (and still is), only concern tbh is what would happen if it went bang 1 year down the line considering they are no longer making them

HI wombRaider - sorry been off I'm still shocked you had to pay return postage for a Known faulty item - that's truly shocking! we've bought our last 2 3008WFP's elsewhere as OCUK didn't have stock - still haven't got stock and they supplier picked the two faulty ones up and replaced them with their own stock immediately

it's a disgrace for a £1000 monitor you pay to return it if it's faulty with a KNOWN FAULT - unimpressed with OCUK here big time
