Thankfully he is fine!

Not going into detail but he ended up bouncing off a kerb and went into a tree stump. The engine is apparently OK. Any idea if they would repair this? Or whether it might be worth buying back and repairing?

Looks like a write off I think, but then again I've known some insurers to write off the simplest of damage but try and repair a near enough wrecked car (i.e. Merlin's (haha!))

Ok Your going to need new

Bonnet
Bumper
Radiator
1 or possibly 2 headlights
Crash beam
Windscreen
Airbags

plus if the damage has got up to the windscreen its perfectly possible the wings are damaged too. The engine mounts could be bent too.

Almost certainly a write off given its age. If you did that to an 08 plate car, it might just survive. But not on 1 this old.

We had a quote book valuation from the owner of a ford dealer we know, he said trade price would be £2k-£2.5k so not worth that much really.

My first car was similar damage.

I don't know how it works with third party, but that got scrapped straight away and the damage was simliar expect my roof and wheels where damaged.
