PC DVD GTA IV?...any news?

According to a Swiss games website, 30th November, although thats nothing to go by.
I hope it does come out on PC, what with the modifications, online play.

There's absolutely no news on this, October is pure speculation. There is no source or confirmation.

They will wait till the consoles sales die down before announcing a date for the PC.

Thats if they are going to port it, i hope they do because its too blury for my liking on the ps3 :(

I really would have thought it would have been announced by now if it was coming before the end of the year, I'm sure it has been in the past :(

I got bored of GTA IV two weeks after playing it for about 20 hours in total (mainly online).

Apart from the obvious better visual experiences and better car physics, the game felt disappointingly stripped down. I think San Andreas is way better.

Loved GTA: Vice City (especially the sound track) - didn't like SA mainly because of the boring gangster scene (even though I did complete it).

Not really read anything about GTA 4 as it's not out on the PC. When or if it's out I'll look into it then.

I just hope it has as many missions as sa had with a nice variety of enviroment locations instead of just streets in a city. And a good collection of bikes and cars.

It has as many missons Id say

Not that many environment locations (It is just New York after all)

Great selection of cars and bikes though.

Its not worth it TBH.

PS3 version is like other GTA games but San Andreas and Vice City are much better and a lot of more to do in them.

I would say that GTA4 is only around 30% of the gameplay in SA & maybe 50% of VC.

That is the most shocking thing (once you can ignore the graphical issues like blurry backgrounds, low res textures, poor draw distance & sluggish FPS).

GTA4 really needs to come out on the PC as only then can it be all it should be graphically but the gameplay is just poor compared to the other 2 most recent GTA PC games.

Sure it will get a port sooner or later but the gameplay will upset many PC gamers as it is badly dumbed down and the cutscenes are so lengthy, numerous (around 80-100) and poorly acted none are memorable all seem tedious and you would be hard pressed to tell them aaprt as they are nearly all 1-2 characters talking the same old sub goodfellas/sopranos dialogue very few are outside of an interior room.

Shame they never did expansion packs to sa. I would have bought one for an extra state with a new campaign on that follows after sa original story with more cars and missions.

I love it on the PS3 but i can't help thinking how much better it'd look on my PC the whole time I play it.
If we're going to argue its merits i'd say that it's the best game in the series although not in every aspect. VC had better radio stations and atmosphere, SA had a lot more variety in missions and scenery, GTA3 was more original. Where this one excels is the city, the detail and the story. Despite the technical shortcomings (that i'm blaming a lot on the consoles ****** hardware and lack of Ram) it can be a tremendously epic and beautiful experience. I've spent hours just driving and taking in the sights. The game is much more narrative than previous ones (closer to mafia) and I can see how that could split fans.
