Call of Duty 5 will be called Call of Duty: World at War

Coop: one guy runs across the invisible enemy infinite respawn disabler line while the other holds them off.

;):p

I'm looking forward to it, just hope they get rid of that gameplay element!

Cant help thinking infinity ward would have been better pitching for the Colonial Marines game rather than those hopeless tools over at gearbox.

I don't mind the sci-fi aspect in COD6 as long as there are no vehicles!
One of the biggest reasons I am still playing COD and not a BF or ET game is the fact that vehicles make the game too unbalanced. COD5 adding this is going to be a big downside for me.

Battlefield has always got that balance right in fairness, as there was always enough room for seperate ground combat (certainly with Battlefield 2, not so much Battlefield 2142).

Although I've always enjoyed playing the Call of Duty series I am starting to get tired of the World War 2 genre.

Is it not possible to dream up a new War instead of following the war's of history.

Not sure if this information has been posted already, not checked the whole thread.

“With Call of Duty: World at War, we’re re-defining what it means to play a WWII game,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch. “We’re excited to give players a host of new enemies that employ entirely new tactics, as well as new, groundbreaking tools – like co-op and the flamethrower – to succeed in the epic fight.”

Call of Duty: World at War introduces co-operative play, bringing fresh meaning to the “No One Fights Alone” mantra with up to four-players online for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, or two-player local split-screen on consoles. Nintendo Wii will also support a unique co-op mode for two players. For the first time ever players will experience harrowing single-player missions together for greater camaraderie and tactical execution. The co-op campaign allows players to rank up and unlock perks in competitive multiplayer by completing challenges and earning experience points, adding continuous re-playability and team-based gameplay. Whether playing competitively or cooperatively – if players are online with Call of Duty: World at War – they will always gain experience points. Based on a player’s experience rank and rank of the player’s friends, Call of Duty: World at War will scale dynamically to provide a deeper level of challenge.

I thought COD 4 was great and i real breath of fresh air for the series, and i cant believe there going back to WWII again.

COD3 had cars etc aswell ;)

I think this should be good won't won't beat COD4 and won't be an amazing game but fun to be had in it non the less. CO-OP should be pretty funny but probably pretty difficult to communicate with anyone as COD games usually have too much gun fire :P

Well whenever I run forward to be aggressive i get grenaded within 10 seconds of the game starting. I'd rather sit in a bush for 2mins than watch other people play :p

Thats because you aint as skilled as the rest of your team mates ;):p

im sure it will be an above average FPS but it will still just be there to make a quick buck off the back of the previous game. What I am hating more and more about the games industry is the realization that it is just that, and these types of products are produced solely mass profit vs investment.
