I'm looking for a company that specializes in insuring performance cars

ST220 is group 16, VXR is group 18 so neither cheap on insurance

Cheapest quotes ive got so far have been with sainsburys wierdly enough. And ive gone through to their websites to verify the quote is correct.

So i'm sure somebody can do better out there.

I've heard of greenlight, adrian flux etc.. are any of them recommended ?

A Plan are supposed to be good and well priced. I have seen sky insurance advertised over on either sxoc or one of the skyline forums, although not sure how good these are.

Bell.co.uk will insure me at 22 on a 911 Turbo for just over a grand...give them a go, no-one can touch them at the moment.

2.5k !! :(

to say Sainsburys quote me £1100 appears to be somewhat of a miracle.

But ive even managed to get the quote some 3 times, so i know its legit.

ST220 is group 17, my quotes for it were the same as for the 530. I pay under a grand, i am younger and i have a claim. 1100 is a rip off.

greenlight insurance

I am 25, 3 points (red light offence), 2 years no claims and have a 50/50 accident on policy (2005)

With the St220 comes out at just over £600

Greenlight were best for me but had a stupid reason not to insure me saying I had done too many quotes through their system. They came up with 980 fc 1 years nc years driving clean licence. In the end I went with LloydsTSB for 1050 same as above with my mods declared.

almost exactly the same circumstances as me

I'm 25 with a Ban (SP50 w/ 1 month ban in 02/07), 2 years no claims, but with 1 fault claim.

I'll see if i can get it under 1k and ring greenlight.

Bell is £250 more (600) for me than Morethan (350), for the last three years Morethan has been over 200 less than any other insurer (Mk4 Astra GSI).

thats because you are old. Bell are only good for young drivers.

Edit: Didnt realise you were 25

Thought you were 40 or something.

Elephant?

Will insure me on a Focus ST for £1500

I dont see the point in elephant at the moment, they are part of the admiral group but are not the cheapest of the group at the moment - bell is, followed by admiral themlseves, then diamond.

aah ok, will have to admit i havent checked a lot of insurers!

When running quotes lately I've found Bell and DirectLine to be quite good.

Bell reckon £1400 for me on a Supra Twin Turbo at 21 with 2 accidents (1 claim, 1 not - but at fault). But then they also think that for something like a Prelude I should pay the likes of £2000. :/

DirectLine have been cheaper for most things, bar Jap toys, they seem less keen on letting me have one, but some of the quotes I ran on euro cars came out lower on DL than on Bell. :)
