4850 - Stock vs. Accelero vs. DuOrb vs. vf900

great, i was about to get some S1's this afternoon, glad i saw this thread.

Does the Akasa cool memory and vrms too ?

Yep and yep.

The back of the case behind the fan has some slits in so it pulls the warmth away from the VRMs.

nice results, what case are you using them in?
Antec P180

No top exhaust, rear exhaust @ low, intake from middle HDD bay @ M, lower PSU cage fan @ M. CPU cooler is Zalman CNPS9700-LED attached to a Fan Mate set to medium.

Case fans are all Antec TriCool 120mm.

Nice comparison fibby. :)

My Akasa Voertex Neo results.
Stock cooler idle temp - 67 °C
Akasa Vortexx Neo idle temp - 29 °c
Stock cooler max temp - 84 °C
Akasa Vortexx Neo max temp - 41 °C

Should have a Zalman VF1000 early next week to do a review on so watch out for that folks as that is apparently a better cooler than this Akasa one.

Do you have the VC02 or the VC03? (or are they the same just different colours), did you have any trouble fitting it?

Azza, does the VC03 come with thermal material already on it or would you recommend me getting some AS5 or MX-2 as well?

No it doesnt.

I use AS5.

is it easy too fit these coolers just ordered a his 4850.

Akasa Vortexx Neo is silly easy mate.

Take of the stock cooler, clean the card. Wack on some AS5, put the ram thermal pads on. The cooler has four screw already built into the cooler which you push through the holes around the core. Put on 4 washers, then put on the 4 collar nuts and you are done. :)

DuOrb, VF900 and Accelero are very easy to fit. Hardest part is removing the stock cooler, which can be a little stiff to lift off but just pry it gentle and it'll come away. Other than that, the coolers are just a case of attacking self-sticking ram sinks then putting the cooler on and screwing it in on the back.

I wouldn't worry
